What We Do

We foster community connections and wellbeing by…

  • Holding monthly public meetings where caregivers and staff develop shared understandings and new ideas

  • Hosting school-based events that bring our diverse community together, including our annual Spaghetti Disco and Charlotte Bohn Memorial Walkathon

  • Supporting teacher, student and parent-led events with volunteers and funds, including Hampden’s Arbor Day, Field Day, student-led conferences, and the Hampden 5k

  • Facilitating communication and collaborative planning between caregivers and school staff when questions, ideas or concerns arise between meetings

  • Forming workgroups to explore ideas that families and staff believe are beneficial and equitable

  • Organizing topic-specific learning sessions about expressed interests, like 504/IEP planning

  • Engaging in mutual aid that emphasizes respect, trust, and collective wellbeing. The PTO works with Hampden Elementary Middle’s staff to identify and equitably meet our school community’s needs
